SENDING NORTH FREMONT & ASHTON STUDENTS HOME (2/26/24). We have been informed that HWY 32 is closing due to road conditions and visibility. Other roads are also becoming difficult. We are sending the Ashton area buses home early. They will load at Ashton Elem. at 2:30. North Fremont will release at 2:45. Be safe!

NORTH SCHOOLS CLOSED (1/10/24). Due to road closures (HWY 32 and 47) we are unable to get the buses out this morning. With more snow and wind in the forecast, we are closing North Fremont JH/HS and Ashton Elementary today (Wed, Jan 10). Schools on the south end of the district will still be in session.

EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEACHER INSERVICE. We want to thank local law enforcement, dispatch, Fremont EMS, and other emergency service personnel for helping us with our inservice at North Fremont High School today. All school staff from Ashton Elementary and North Fremont experienced active shooter drills, hostage situations, fire emergencies, and emergency medical support training. This was excellent practice and helped our schools better understand how to respond in emergencies. Your local schools will be conducting drills throughout the year to practice what we learned today. We will be repeating this training on January 19 at Henry's Fork Elementary (for HFE, PE, and TE) and on February 9 at South Fremont High School (for SFJ and SFH). If you would like to learn more or even see what is happening, contact your school for details.

The Rigby Lions Club will be at the school to perform their annual vision screening on Monday, October 23. Watch for a permission slip coming home today, Monday, October 16. Please fill it out and return it to the school with your student. If we do not have a permission slip, your student will not be screened.

Eastern Idaho Public Health will be at the school on Monday, October 16th from 8:30 - 9:30 to administer flu vaccinations . Consent forms will be sent home today, Thursday, October 12th. HARVEST UPDATE (10-5-2023). All schools will be back in session for the whole district on Monday. Due to the weather, many farmers one both ends of the district are still trying to complete the harvest and many students are still working. Students who have missed or who will miss school due to harvest on either end of the district will still be counted as being absent and count against the 8 day limit each semester; however, the absences will be tracked by the schools. Similar to COVID related absences in the past, students who may exceed the 8 day limit due to harvest work will be able to work closely with the schools and teachers to make up any missed work and will have this taken into consideration by the administration when determining the need to make up time. A form to document harvest related absences can be picked up in the office. It will need to be filled out and then signed by the employer and the student's parents/guardians. If you have questions, please contact your school.
Picture day for Ashton Elementary will be Thursday, October 12th. Non-attending children are welcome between 11:00 - 12:00. If you would like to place an online order, go to bellphoto.com and use the code AshtonES215Fall23.
